Max Water Conservation Programme

We recognize that the quality of and access to water in our hospitals is key to the long-term viability of our infrastructure and business. Our hospitals require a substantial amount of water because of their scale, range of services, and number of patients served. We are conscious of our responsibility to use this scarce resource judiciously and deploy several interventions to reduce water use across our units.

Our goal is to be 100% water neutral by March 2025. Towards that end our goal is to recharge 1 million kilolitres of water that we consume in our operations, on an annual basis. Towards this, we intend to recharge and develop water bodies in rural areas and the communities we serve in and around our hospitals. Additionally, it is necessary to implement an integrated natural wastewater treatment that can make water available for agriculture; which can be achieved by recharging bodies and mitigating water loss.

As a responsible corporate citizen, we are committed to embracing sustainable water conservation, management practices in our operations and across our entire value chain.  We believe that by working with local communities in and around our operations, we will be able to augment water security and make a meaningful contribution towards conserving our planet’s natural resources.

We have rejuvenated a pond in a village in Ghaziabad district by implementing an integrated natural wastewater treatment system that has made available water for agriculture to the local community, mitigated waterlogging and also recharged ground water.

Going forward we intend to construct ponds in underserved village communities in Meerut. IIT Delhi will be the technical and assessment partner for these projects.
